Friday 22/03/2019 Whitehorse to Haines Junction Sightseeing
Yukon, CANADA
Participants: Anne-Marie DaSilva, Walter Brennan, Stephen Davies (Photos), Sue Davies (Report)
Another driving day trip from Whitehorse, this time we were heading due west towards Haines Junction.
The mountains again seemed endless, punctuated by lakes and rivers. It is truely impressive country!
We then entered Kluane National Park and Reserve. Including the adjacent three parks, (Wrangell-St Elias, Glacier Bay and Tatshenshini-Alsek) it makes up the largest internationally protected land mass on earth.
We enjoyed lunch at the scenic Lake Kathleen and partook in a short walk around the edge of the lake for even better views.
This was an excellent road trip and we were very thankful to our hosts for this day out.
