About 9km south of Kranjska Gora on route 206 after a climb and series of hairpin bends in the road you reach the car park park at Vrsic (1611m). Although there are numerous trails heading off in all directions from this carpark our aim was Slemenova Spica, so we sidled up the hill towards the north to reach Vratica (1799m) before turning west and continuing towards Slemenova Spica.
Max elevation: 1906 m

After a last minute online hire car booking through Sixt from Bled the previous day, for a car for today we weren’t too sure what to expect. At 10:30am we had three people outside with two cars. They had driven a considerable distance from the nearest airport to deliver our diesel golf to our accomodation at Pension Berc.
At our accomodation in Kranjska Gora, our host Gregor, had been of great assistance in finding a good local walk for us to try. The navigation app on the ipod on the other hand was more of a hinderance than help in finding his place.
With overcast weather during the afternoon we were hopeful of catching what were supposed to be some of the best views in the area. So we headed out around 2:30pm on our planned walk to Slemenova Spica (1911m).
There was plenty of mist and a little rain, so we ended up a bit wet and cold. Lots of views of the nearby mountains were glimpsed through the occasional breaks in the clouds and nice forest and alpine meadow sections were encountered along the way. This turned into a short walk, as we were back to the car by about 4:30pm.
