Great weather for a day walk from Bundeena to Little Marley Beach. During this walk out of Bundeena we passed by Jibbon Hill along the Coast Track until reaching The Waterrun at the coast. Continuing south along the Coast Track we passed a multitude of coastal cliff views before reaching Marley Head. Just south of Marley Head where Marley Head Trail joins The Coast Track you get views to the south west of Marley Beach and Little Marley Beach, our final destination for the day before heading back to Bundeena after beautiful winter’s day walking. A highlight of the day was seeing some aboriginal rock art etched into sandstone.

This South Coast Bushwalking Club trip was an undulating amble along bushland tracks from Loftus Railway Station to Bundeena Ferry Wharf. It passes through the northern section of Royal National Park. Early encounters with morning joggers and mountain bike riders near the tramway track were followed by morning coffees and hot chocolates at Audley. Walking the length of Winifred Falls Trail past the non-flowing Winifred and Anice Falls suggested it may be preferable to complete this section soon after some reasonable rainfall! After a short section of walking along the road into Maianbar we crossed over Cabbage Tree Basin on the foot bridge before walking though to the ferry wharf at Bundeena to complete our walk. Participants: Stephen Davies (Leader, Photos, Report), Sue Davies, Trish Whitelaw

A predicted hot day ensured Trish, Sue and myself endeavoured to keep cool under trees or in water, hence our trip selection. An interesting diversion (bush bash) was taken along the southern side of Waterfall Gully Creek after the trail was lost at what looked like a creek crossing. We re-emerged onto the road at the junction of Coutts Creek, the trail and the road.
