Berry Springs Nature Park, NORTHERN TERRITORY
Larrakia country
Participants: Sue Davies (Photos, Report), Sue Moore
Berry Springs nature park is about a 50 minute drive from Darwin. It is recommended as a place to go on a hot afternoon. Every afternoon is hot in Darwin so I guess it’s good at anytime. The route however, may be impassable in the wet season.
Max elevation: 24 m
Total climbing: 15 m

Berry springs loop 1.2km
This short walk is through an area of tropical rainforest with huge Banyan trees and Carpentaria palms. A swim before and after walking is recommended in the 30 degree heat.
The walk is a short circuit from the cascades above the main pool at Berry Springs Nature Park. The vegetation changes considerably from dry forest to shaded rainforest. This is a designated wheel chair route but it may be tough to push a wheelchair over the gravel path.
